Cutting-Edge Limited-Time Free Online Courses | EmergingEd

In an effort to support businesses and help equip professionals with the skillsets they need to excel in this rapidly changing economy, EmergingEd is offering its online courses for free all month long to teach essential technical disciplines so that “we can all emerge better than we were before.”

The eight-week courses, which typically cost $1,500, pair EmergingEd – a workforce accelerator, developing and delivering courses that teach the skills needed by the global workforce to keep up with emerging fields and thought leadership – with industry experts to meet the growing demand for skills and career training. EmergingEd partners with companies and industry leaders at the forefront of their fields to design and create content, delivering a portfolio of online courses that teach the most sought-after skills in the most in-demand emerging technologies.

“EmergingEd’s current courses – cybersecurity, blockchain and machine learning – are essential subject matter for professionals across industries and represent the technologies that will most impact the way we do business in the coming years,” said EmergingEd Managing Director Lexi Zarecky. No matter your current role, you should understand these important subject areas. By making our courses free for this period, we are aiming to help a broad range of professionals gain fluency in these important areas.”

According to Salesforce, 54 percent of all employees will need to reskill or upskill by 2022, and 52 percent of IT leaders say skill gaps are a major challenge in their organizations.

EmergingEd delivers an expert-driven, industry-proven curriculum that is focused on reducing the time between skill development and application. Throughout EmergingEd courses, students can directly access practitioners in the field who are actively using the technology skills being taught and download tools that can be immediately used on the job.

Zarecky, who has a bachelor’s from Vanderbilt and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, said cybersecurity specifically has become increasingly important with massive shifts in the employment landscape and an estimated 3.5 unfilled cybersecurity jobs globally by 2021.

“Across the nation, we are seeing examples of people using this period of time to gain new skills and explore new career options. We wanted to support this trend and help people use this time intentionally, so that when we emerge from this, our workforce is more equipped than we were at the onset,” Zarecky said.

The free courses include: Cybersecurity Foundations and Frameworks; Machine Learning Foundations and Frameworks; and Blockchain Foundations and Frameworks. They will be offered at no cost through April 30th.

“Professionals are continuously challenged to learn and develop new skills to advance in their careers,” Zarecky said. “At EmergingEd, we aim to provide professionals with the knowledge, tools and resources they need to stay ahead of the curve and up-to-date on how emerging technologies will impact organizations.”
